MARIA SPELLS OUT VOLUNTEERING FOR NATIONAL PALLIATIVE CARE WEEK (21.05.18)
Whittle Ward volunteer Maria Pate provided a comprehensive outline of what it is to be a hospice volunteer in an early morning interview with ABC Local Radio’s morning presenter Ryk Goddard on May 21.
Speaking during two important awareness activities, National Palliative Care Week and National Volunteer Week, Maria painted an excellent picture of the role of volunteers in supporting families through the challenges of life-limiting illness. Maria also highlighted our new website to be launched this week – an exciting step forward for Hospice!
Maria, pictured here with Ryk Goddard, spoke of her work on the Whittle Ward, and that of volunteers across the state, as well as discussing the theme for this year’s National Palliative Care Week: “What Matters Most?”
Thanks Maria for being a wonderful advocate for Hospice Volunteers and spreading the word through Ryk’s highly-rated breakfast program. The interview can be heard here –http://www.abc.net.au/radio/hobart/programs/breakfast/breakfast/9761276 (from 1.42.08 to 1.47.24).
